Şafak Baykal was born in Ankara. She received her BSc and MSc degrees in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 2004 and 2007, respectively; and she completed her minor degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering in the same university. Also, she received her PhD in Organizational Management from Ankara Y.B. University in 2018.
She is a PMP certified project manager and manages many national and international R&D defence, transportation, and energy projects for 17 years. Now, she focuses on R&D projects about energy storage, e-mobility, renewable energy, and efficiency in utilities. She has been actively engaged in the H2020, ERANET and national projects about energy management systems based on AI for microgrids systems. As a project management expert, she also gives a ‘project management course’ to many institute and firms.
She likes playing volleyball and swimming. She is married and has two children.
